About Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
CBSE is one of India's most popular and widely recognized boards, known for its structured and standardized curriculum.
It is a national-level board of education followed by many private and public schools nationwide.
The CBSE aims for a robust, vibrant, and holistic school education that fosters excellence in all aspects of life, enhances intellectual, social, and cultural vivacity among its students, fosters global leadership, and boosts a stress-free learning environment.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was established in 1929 by the Government of India as the Board of High School and Intermediate Education. The board's jurisdiction was initially over Ajmer, Merwara, Central India, and Gwalior, but was later limited to Ajmer, Bhopal, and Vindhya Pradesh. In 1952, the board's constitution was amended to include Part-C and Part-D territories and it was renamed the Central Board of Secondary Education. The board was reconstituted in 1962 to better serve educational institutions and students whose parents worked for the central government and had frequently transferable jobs. In 1953, the board's constitution was amended again to include other areas.
